Gaylen C. Hansen is an American artist best known for neo-expressionist figurative paintings that feature the flora and fauna of the Palouse, a geographically unusual area in Eastern Washington state where he lives and works. He taught Art ant Washington State University, one of his students was the cartoonist Gary Larson.Hansen doesn't paint on an easel, rather nailing the canvas to his studio wall, and pulling it down when finished, as you can see on the edges of the offered painting.
